I would like to know if it's possible to set up my Wordfast Classic so that the target segment maintains the same punctuation (full stops, commas, etc) and upper and lower case conventions as as the source when inserting terms from the TM.
I've just spent almost half an hour trying to find out how to do this online and am posting this here as a last resort. Perhaps this setup isn't possible ??

First of all, you do not insert terms from your TMs, but from your glossaries. If/when inserting terms from your glossaries, you can force the case entered in your glossary with the {nc} smart code, to be added to one of the F1/F2/F3 field. For example:

source term: février
target term: February
F1: {nc}

-> "February" will be inserted as "February". Without the {nc} smart code, it would be inserted as "february".

Otherwise, what you want to use for punctuation at end of segment and case at beginning of segment are the following QA settings:

In other words, Wordfast won’t automatically adjust these, but it will catch any discrepancies at validation time (when pressing Alt+Down). It’s then up to you to fix these discrepancies.

Sorry, by "insert" I meant when a segment flags up green as already translated in the TM (I perceive this as the translated segment being "inserted" from the TM). Thanks for the information, although it appears I will not be able to do what I hoped. I don't need a "warning" when for example, an uppercase term in the source text appears in lower case in the translated segment, as it happens systematically and I am fully aware of it. I don't need a "warning" when for example, an uppercase term in the source text appears in lower case in the translated segment, as it happens systematically and I am fully aware of it. I was simply hoping to be able to set it up so that the punctuation and lower/upper usage would appear the same in the target segment as it does in the source.

No worries, it's not a big issue for me.

PS: I don't really use the glossaries, I've never been able to understand how they are supposed to work.
