Hi, I'm looking to invest in a reliable bilingual Portuguese and English dictionary, preferably in an electronic format as I have problems with my hands and struggle to use and carry around heavy, paper-based dictionaries. At this stage I'm just looking for a general dictionary. I also have a kindle so if anyone knows of any versions available for that or a PC (Windows 7), your input would be most appreciated.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

In spite of Portuguese being one and the same language everywhere, and albeit the Spelling Reform has settled everywhere, many differences will prevail forever, especially in vocabulary, which is what dictionaries cover.

For instance, in IT, PT-PT usually draws from FR what PT-BR draws from English, e.g.:
EN - PT-BR - FR - PT-PT
screen - tela - écran - ecrã
mouse - mouse - souris - rato
file - arquivo - fichier - ficheiro
