Actually the above referenced issue is not about plug-ins. This is just a rare scenario involving double merging that Trados never supported or was not designed for.
What regards the unsigned plug-in message, you can fix it by removing the problem plug-in if you don't use it. As far as I remember the unsigned status means the plug-in has not been approved by RWS yet.


Editing/saving merged files seems to be a common factor in a number of outstanding Trados problems. For example, another frequent error I used to get during an editing session with merged files was lack of permissions to access a certain Trados folder (I can't remember the actual message now). So, it is possible that the unstable implementation of merged files is the underlying cause in these cases.

Have you tried to update the plugin? You have to remove the existing version and then install the updated one. For Trados 2022, use these paths to remove plugins:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins\Packages\
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins\Unpacked\
***Before you do that, first check your current version.
Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Trados\Plugin installer and run Sdl.Community.SdlPluginInstaller.exe
Check the plugin version against your Trados version.
