Dear colleagues,

Please advise on the simplest free subtitling software that would allow me to enter my own translation. I saw a few on the net but don't want to experiment, downloading one after another. Mind it, I have never done any subtitling for business or pleasure and need something that would not require long hours of training, if possible. It all sounds so simple in the ads:-)

Also, try this video in Russian. It shows how to open your subtitles in a bilingual view for translation. If you already have a subtitle file, start watching from 5:42 through 7:04. If you are supposed to create/generate subs from voice and then translate the subtitle file, then watch it entirely.
