I recently downloaded OmegaT 3.0.2 to get the tokenizer without having to deal with a plug-in, but I've been having some problems. I wonder if anyone else is having similar difficulties, and if anyone has found a solution.
First of all, Google Translate isn't translating. I'm getting the original language sentence in the Machine Translation box,
Second, the segmentation rules aren't working properly. That includes both those that came with the application, like "дол... Third, nothing appears in the Fuzzy Matches box, even when I reopen a translation I have completed and saved.
If all else fails, I may go back to the previous version and try to sort out how to install the tokenizer plug-in. But I would really rather not have to do that.

I think that Google has withdrawn the translation API as a free service, meaning that OmegaT can’t make use of it without paying for it, and I don’t see that happening any time soon.

To get Google Translate working, you must first subscribe to their service, then configure OmegaT, and last be sure the language pair of the project is set correctly.

We haven't enough elements to understand what is happening here.
Assuming "г" is supposed to be isolated, the second rule is likely to be be better with "\sг", so that "г" at the end of a word doesn't trigger the rule.
Third, nothing appears in the Fuzzy Matches box, even when I reopen a translation I have completed and saved.
To have things appearing in the Fuzzy Matches pane, you must have sufficiently similar sentences in your project. That does not always happen. Closing and opening again the project will not help, as fuzzy matches appear in real time.
If all else fails, I may go back to the previous version and try to sort out how to install the tokenizer plug-in. But I would really rather not have to do that.
Any advice?
None of the points you mention would be easier with the previous version.
My advice is to subscribe to the Yahoo support group,

I probably should have mentioned that I had everything working, and my computer died and I had to buy a new one. I was using OmegaT v. 3.0.1 before. But it apparently is no longer available.
I have subscribed to the Google Translate paid service, so that's not the issue.

3.0.2 update 1 is available, and the differences with 3.0.1 cannot explain why things were working before and not now.

Then either you have not configured OmegaT correctly, or your language codes are not the correct ones, or you have a firewall/"security product" issue.

Typically the kind of things that must be discussed in detail to find out what happens. Here is not the ideal place for that.

OmegaT can’t use the API, but it can still use Google translation via a shell script (search the Yahoo! group archives for more details).
