Dear fellow translators,
several clients, colleagues and I have been trying to contact the EN>FR translator Elsa Favette, but she doesn't answer phone calls/e-mails, her bank account has been disabled, the same goes for her phone number and we are all worried that something might have happened to her.
I'd never open such a thread but I just don't know what else to do...
If someone can help/reassure us, we'd be very grateful.

If you have her address you might be able to find a relative on the Internet and contact him/her to have some news.
Or else a kind colleague could pay her a visit.

Have you tried to post this on the French forum? Maybe some French colleagues know where she lives and/or might have more information... Her address is available on the SFT members list anyway.

I'm very sorry to announce that Elsa has passed away.
May she rest in peace.
I feel guilty for opening this thread, I'm sure she didn't want her private life to be so exposed, I was just worried about her but I'd never expect such a news, she was so young...
I'd like to ask the staff to close this thread...

I don't see why you want this thread closed - it just shows your concern.
However, perhaps you would like to post a new forum message in the Honours and Citations forum to let the members of the community know about the passing of Elsa.

I agree wholeheartedly. It seems many of us were following this thread, even though we did not know Elsa or about her existence. That proves how powerful, moving and genuine your concern was. It is sad news. I believe the thread should not be locked and everyone that knew this colleague should have the opportunity to share his or her farewell.
