Distinction between right and useful

I think there is a clear distinction between "right" and "useful."
Let's imagine that I post a question. "A" submits an answer that is quite correct, but perhaps not perfect for the context. The only comment is something like, "hope this helps."
"B" submits an answer that is less correct for the context, but his or her reasoning is explained. B also cites several helpful web pages (copying the appropriate paragraphs) and gives links to previous related kudoz discussions. "B... See more

"B" submits an answer that is less correct for the context, but his or her reasoning is explained. B also cites several helpful web pages (copying the appropriate paragraphs) and gives links to previous related kudoz discussions. "B" has spent some serious time researching on my behalf, and this person's efforts ultimately lead me to the perfect answer for my purposes. Personally, I would choose "B" as the most helpful, and that person would get my points. ▲ Collapse

I just posted a new Forum Topic on this issue. The "point eaters" are attacking, and their main weapon is "stealing" someone else's answer, changing or adding a few syllables, and reposting it with a higher level of confidence, to be on top of the list. And the worst thing about it is that IT WORKS!
