Locking partial text content within segment in XML files

I have hundreds of xml files that contain web content exported from a client's CMS. The issue is attempting to lock partial text content with a certain tag.

For example, a PropertyContent tag with a PropertyName attribute value of "Link" often contains both direct link paths (http's) and text combined with relative link paths (Title||/..../...., Blah Blah||/.../...). For example, a PropertyContent tag with a PropertyName attribute value of "Link" often contains both direct link paths (http's) and text combined with relative link paths (Title||/..../...., Blah Blah||/.../...). We would like to lock or ignore text that is a full http path and text that is the relative a path (the /.../...) while leaving the regular text translatable (Title, Blah Blah).

We can manually lock segments in which the full text should not be translated but we have be careful with all the combined ones to make sure the Do-Not-Translate text stays in EN and the Do-translate text is translated. This is taking substantial translation and QA time, not to mention adding word counts that the client is not happy with.

I'm not sure how we could lock content that is indicated by regular text characters and not by proper tags or values (i.e. - '||' ; '/' ; ',' ; 'http'). I appreciate any suggestions, thank you. ▲ Collapse
