Hello,
what are your experiences regarding compatibility between the new Windows 10 and SDL Trados Studio 2014 and 2015?
Thanks in advance, Tilmann

No problems at all Oct 16, 2015

Hi, I updated from Windows 8 to Windows 10 in September but I haven't experienced any problems so far.
Let's hear from other Prozians about their experiences. Anna Rita

No problems Oct 16, 2015

I haven't found any problems with any of the applications I am using, among which are SDL Studio 2015 and memoQ 2014. Updating was easy. I updated another computer from a family member who then experienced problems with certain video formats and decided to turn back to Windows 7 - and that was no problem, either. I was never less annoyed with Windows than in the recent days.

Hate to be a party pooper but..... Oct 16, 2015

My previous computer (until yesterday) went into a terminal dive after I updated to Windows 10. It had trouble starting up, and it got worse over time. Yesterday it simply refused and is now on its way back to the manufacturer for an overhaul (and a downgrade to Windows 7). Considering these developments, I would be wary of updating. I would advise that you make it possible to go back (a startup system for your previous OS). This is because Windows 10 deletes your old OS after 1 month.

No problem with Studio 2015 ... Oct 16, 2015

... but somehow Windows 10 created big problems on my system in that the desktop suddenly became write protected. I tried 3 times to install Windows 10 from scratch, with the same big problem. I've reinstalled Windows 8.1 now on a different harddisk (an SSD disk), and things work much better now.

So I suspect the best is to install Windows 10 on a different harddisk/partition (preferably a medium sized SSD) in case of problems, so your current system is not touched.

Observation? Oct 16, 2015

Maybe it is me, but it seems that most of the problems I read about are updates from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and less from Windows 8 to Windows 10. Also, more people encounter problems when upgrading on a desktop then on a laptop.

Am I the only one who is noticing this?

Could be that there are more problems on a desktop than a laptop, but at least I had problems from Windows 8.1 64 bit to Windows 10.

I don't know. It is only an observation. I am one of those people who is waiting with the upgrade till the last moment, but who in the meantime is following the discussions about Windows 10, not only on Proz, but also on other forums.

I might be totally wrong, but as I said before: 'It seems that....'
