I consider the quality of my work and my reliability to be two of my greatest strengths.

Further explanation: I am ALWAYS available for my regular clients because they are always available for me: quick/regular payments (which should be normal, but sometimes it doesn't happen so it is correct to thank the good payers) if I need more work for example for extra, sudden expenses I call and I ask and I get it. ▲ Collapse

IMHO, this includes quality of the translation and reliability + quality of the relation with the customer (mutual respect).
Mary Worby United Kingdom Local time: 01:09 German to English + ... I also had 'a combination of the above' as an option | Apr 29, 2010 |
But I guess that then everyone would have voted for that! I just wanted to work out where people perceived their USPs were. Personally, I think the key is a combination of quality results, reliability and approachability, but narrowing it down to a single answer is tough.
Combination - plus comfort of having worked with one earlier | Apr 29, 2010 |

Its usually a comination - plus the comfort of having worked with someone in the past and knowing their strengths, reliability as well as limitations if any - many of us I am sure have clients who prefer us over others even though we may not be the "cheapest" or "best" (whatever that may mean) Cheers from a rather hot (38 degrees C) India! I was very surprised that the translation itself was not part of the criteria... I voted "Other".
Professionalism = quality, amongst other things | Apr 29, 2010 |
That's how I read it. | | |
m_temmer Local time: 18:09 English to Dutch + ... professionalism = quality? | Apr 29, 2010 |
Some customers aren't interested in top-quality translations because that's too expensive. I don't work for those customers as quality is my number one priority. However, translators and agencies that do, may very well be very professional. But that's just how I see this.
