Olena Kirsanova . Recently we had the opportunity to work with XTM and I must admit that the tool saved us as the project was large and very urgent. We were able to assign linguists and subcontractors quickly and within 2 hours we had started work on the project! This was possible due to the fact the tool is easy to use and the interface is user-friendly. It saved our project managers time and the linguists were able to produce their translations easily and with great quality. They loved XTM!
On a personal note, I have would like to add that the support teams are very efficient and answer quickly!

How easy is it to learn?
A serious online CAT
Review by
Maciej Dudziak . Here’s my few thoughts after working with XTM for some time already.
As an online solution it is, obviously, always available and device-independent. Yet, in comparison to other online tools, XTM quality stands out, as the tool is really fine-tuned for the most popular browsers (FF, Chrome, Safari & IE).
The first thing that hits you - is the variety of functions for project managers. Beside the obvious ones, I liked Continuous Project (for updated sources), advanced Sub-contracting (cooperating with other users) and dividing translation jobs into bundles (assigning document parts to different linguists) the most.
(hint: it is worth taking time to fiddle with configuration as, for example - limiting the list of working languages - significantly reduces the time needed for creating a new translation project)
Aside of defining custom workflows, since version 9.0 - XTM also supports defining Custom Fields for a project. This should satisfy even the most-demanding PM as you can literary put any note you want into your project.
A useful thing is also the possibility to generate different kinds of previews (PDF, Excel, HTML), especially the extended ones, with customizable columns.
In terms of the very process of translating - the standard Editor may seem not as perfect as the desktop solutions but the new HTML WYSIWYG Editor can be a real game-changer for those of us who localize websites, as it provides a live preview of the translated element!
The 9.0 version also introduced the so-called Pre-processing step, which is basically about creating a translation in an intermediate language, simplifying translating into the real target language, e.g. from Chinese to Croatian with English in between, so actually from Chinese to English, and then from English to Croatian.
What is also worth noticing is XTM’s support, not only highly-responsive but also possessing and providing actual technical knowledge.
To sum up - XTM is an online CAT and as such, it might lack in ergonomics, especially comparing to offline tools. Nevertheless, taking into consideration the rich and original (HTML Editor) features it provides - it is, without a doubt, a serious solution to consider.

How easy is it to learn?
I can work faster on the cloud!
Review by
Umit Ozaydin . Hello everyone, I'm new on the cloud and I like it! As a Mac user, I had lots of problems with Windows-based CAT tools. However, I can work with XTM (branded as Nubuto in Turkey) wherever I want. Also, I don't need to worry about Nubuto updates. To sum up, it is an awesome CAT tool! I really love it!

This CAT tool will give you a sore head
Review by
Ondřej Houdek . This is not a serious CAT tool. Stay away of it if you can. It offers only basic functions and it is notoriously slow and freezes all the time.
It comes with some strangest features like automatically skipping to the start of the segment when you just click in the middle of a word to correct a typo, or automatically confirming a segment you only happened to click on (which you must actually do to scroll down).
I could start about its infamous QA tool, but you know...
It is bizarre many LSPs use it. Maybe its for free, but it is still pricy even if for free, since it significantly lowers the quality of work.
