If she IS a SINGER then....the expression needs to be very precise. OR SHE ISN'T A SINGER! It is a question of degree.

I also agree with the other answers as to the meaning of ""afinada", though depending on you want to construct the phrase, this is another option.

She has got a good ear/perfect pitch
It might refer to two different skills :

- recognition of sounds (pitch). Having perfect pitch means to recognize any note when it's played. Having relative pitch is recognizing intervals (for example you're able to say what's the construction of a chord that you hear but not in which key it's played).
- memorization by listening : being able to reproduce music just by hearing it a few times-even once (which is not possible if you don't have at least relative pitch).

These skills can be learned by anyone but apparently some persons are more gifted than the average. Obviously the earlier a child is ear-trained the better...

The most literal translation would be She's an in-tune singer, or She is a singer that sings in tune, but these sentences sound unnatural. Afinada doesn't have an adjectival equivalent in English that is embraced by the music community.

Afinada doesn't mean perfect pitch; it isn't that specific. Singing on key isn't accurate either, as that puts a singer in the right key, but doesn't necessarily mean they have the discernment to sing each pitch accurately--just one wrong note makes you desafinada, even if you're singing "on key." "Carry a tune" usually refers to non-professional singers and may not be right for your translation depending on context.

That's exactly the point! There are many that don't, thus the phenomenon of auto-tune.
