This is a term from a math program for children with disabilities. How does this method work?
When role-playing the purchasing process during classroom activities, uses the Ў®dollar-moreЎЇ method to count out the dollar amount owed, and then adds in an additional dollar to cover the cost of the change.
Thank you.

From reading about it:
Part of this method is to help the children understand that they have to think ahead. It is particularly difficult to learn \"cause and effect\" for children with disabilities, and thinking ahead is part of that learning process. They have to have the whole dollar amount, which is reasonably easy for the children that know their numbers. But then they are taught to think ahead and have and extra dollar with \"a dollar more\" method. It would make sense to translate it as \"на доллар больше\"

"Плюс доллар (рубль)"
A very literal translation. Don't know whether this method is known in Russia, or what it is called. Would think that if the method is for Russian children, should use ruble instead of dollar.

"доллар на сдачу" или "доллар в уме"
Раз уж этот "плюс-доллар" должен покрывать медяковую (пардон, даймовую/никелевую) мелочь, то можно и так попробовать...
