"executor of the will" »» "executor testamentário" (PT-PT), "testamentário" (PT-PT), "testamenteiro" (PT-PT, PT-BR): é a pessoa nomeada que executa as disposições do testamento. Pode ser nomeada pelo testador ou, se não houver, pelo juíz.
"trustee of the will" »» "administrador da herança" (PT-PT e PT-BR)
Normalmente, o testamenteiro NÃO tem poderes para administrar a herança. Pode até ter alguns poderes de gestão corrente, mas por ex. não pode vender bens da herança.
No Brasil (vd. link abaixo) o testamenteiro pode ter esses poderes por indicação expressa do testador: nesse caso chama-se "testamenteiro universal". No Brasil, o testamenteiro pode ou não ter a função de "inventariador": esta pode ser nomeada pelo juíz ("inventariador judicial").
O "administrador da herança" tem poderes mais amplos de gestão dos bens/património da herança.
