Swedish term
bikupor
Swedish to English
Art/Literary
Education / Pedagogy
Hello
This is an unusual use of the word me thinks but I get the idea
Då jag föreläst har jag ofta lagt in frågor, *bikupor*, till studenterna.
It is used a second time in:
Jag har lagt in bikupor av främst två skäl.
The question is can I use "hive off etc." to reflect the idea in English? The term exists for businesses of course but does it match the Swedish here for you in terms of figurative speech?
Thanks for your opinions.

questions for group discussion
If you diskuterar någonting in a bikupa you discuss it in small groups of 2-3. I'm guessing this is what's meant here. You'll find plenty of hits if you google 'diskutera i bikupa'.

There lots are of expressions that we have never heard of. However, comprehensive dictionaries are a great help and I think we can rely on Collins English Dictionary for example.

Discussion
The direct English equivalent to "bikupor" - complete with references to the buzzing beehives - is Agneta's answer: "buzz groups".
Not sure if students qualify for "an assembly of busy people" :)
