Swedish term

akademisk ålder

Swedish to English Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy
Simply "seniority"?

This is one of those instances where I know what the word means, but I am looking for a better way to say it.

Here's the definition:

"akademisk ålder, dvs. antal år efter doktorsexamen för att värdera graden av meritering"

And here's the context:

"...utredningen begreppet ”akademisk ålder,” dvs. att meriteringens omfattning och kvalitet måste ställas i relation till den aktiva arbetstiden under anställningstiden."

academic age

Note from asker:
Can it be as simple as that? I guess this Swedish term really was a translation from the English.
