Portuguese term

Carro de emergência

Portuguese to English Other Medical: Instruments
This is to be used in the medical quarters aboard a ship. At first I thought of a gurney. But then they had a separate item "maca de emergência". Any ideas?

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks very much. Actually, I believe that "Cart" and "Trolly", as put forth by Ms. Jane Lamb are both correct, but since this is for UK English (sorry I didn't mention that, Ms. Lamb)I have to go with "trolly". And Jane, please do call me Ted. We're friends, you know :))"

Portuguese term (edited): Carro de emergncia

gurney for "carro de emergência" and stretcher for "maca"

I'd stay with gurney for carro de emergência and use stretcher for maca, 'cause a gurney has wheels and a stretcher is the piece of canvas for carrying sick people or bodies.
