"carolino" rice

Acho que é uma coisa típica de Portugal
Não achei equivalente e parece que a receita usa exatamente esse tipo de arroz.

Not the same, but nearly perfectly equivalent; both are low-amylose varieties of japonica rice.

white rice

This is a specific kind of white rice used in Portugal, in fact it's the most popular rice in Portugal but in English it's basically just regular white rice as far as I'm aware.

I have a bag of this in my cupboard-"Saludães Arroz Carolino". On the side of the bag it says "Arroz Extra Longo Branqueado". It isn't sticky or asian rice. It's white rice. Perhaps long grain according to my bag.

Asian rice is a different sort of rice("Arroz Oriente" on that same page). This rice becomes creamy when cooked and absorbs flavours well. But it is not sticky rice, which is an asian variety. Hope this helps.

Carolina (type) long grain white rice - Carolina rice

This is the long-grain rice that is most popular in the United States. It was originally planted in North Carolina in the late 17th century from East African rice brought back by a sea captain. Carolina rice is now cultivated mainly in California, Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas.

In 1694, rice arrived in South Carolina, probably originating from Madagascar.[17]

In the United States, colonial South Carolina and Georgia grew and amassed great wealth from the slave labor obtained from the Senegambia area of West Africa and from coastal Sierra Leone....
