Contract for Digital Content Management System - TV
The term is in the context of a contract for a digital content management system for a TV channel.
The translation is NOT "editing islands" - there are only 9 direct hits for this on Google and in all cases these are translated documents.
I am inclined at this stage to refer to an "editing console" - i.e. a unit on which all the electronic editing controls are situated - since this seems to be portable it would explain the reference perhaps in PT to "islands".
Would be grateful if anyone can confirm this or the correct technical term.

I found more references for "tables" than for "consoles", and the difference is significant, look:
5,240 English pages for tape OR computer OR video "editing table".
998 English pages for tape OR computer OR video "editing console".
When comparing just the two expressions, without the other words, the difference is smaller:
10,700 English pages for "editing table".
4,830 English pages for "editing console".
