Italian term

stage (see context)

Italian to English Art/Literary Music
From a bio of one of the docents for an early music course:

È stato assistente di Bernard Fabre Garrus nel corso dell’ultimo stage italiano dell’Ensemble “A sei voci”.

"Stage" for me always means like an internship or on-the-job training. Here, I am pretty sure this had to be a performance. Any suggestions? (Perhaps it's meant to be related to the English word "stage"?)

workshop

changed my answer after checking the phrase in context. It seems to be used (in the performing arts, for example) in relation to workshops with respected or noted professional artists.

An example: "Seguirà uno stage con Andrea Nanni probabilmente il 9, 10,11 marzo."

Cool! I wouldn't have thought of this!
