Significa che si può stare nel posteggio solo per un determinato tempo (ovvero col dico orario) oppure con speciali biglietti che si comprano dove si indica l'orario di arrivo e valgono per un'ora o due ore.
Una terza soluzione è quella di servirsi di un distributore: si inserisce il tempo previsto per il posteggio e, dopo aver inserito i "soldini", il distributore emette un biglietto con ora d'arrivo e l'ora di fine posteggio.
