Italian term

d.to

Italian to English Other Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs Death Certificate
The letters "d.to" appear after the title "L'UffICIALE di ST CIVILE d.to". I am assuming that "ST"stands for "Stato" thoiugh I have never seen this form before. But what is represented by "d.to"? "Delegato"? And if so, what is the exact meaning? Your help is much appreciated. Isobel

Maybe a typo f.to = firmato (or maybe you're right and it is delegato)

IMO you are right: "ufficiale di stato civile delegato" is the officier, authorised by the mayor, that can for example register marriages in the mayor's stead.

Example sentence:

Il rito civile verrà celebrato, dal Sindaco o dall’Ufficiale di Stato Civile delegato il giorno concordato, alla presenza di due testimoni, nella sala consiliare del Palazzo Comunale.
