additional note

I agree with Giles but other ways I have seen it described in English are "faced concrete" and "double-skin concrete core" but, as often as not, it is not translated, unless in brackets.

Italian term (edited): muro a sacco

opus incertum/cement core wall

"Opus incertum" è il termine latino per questa tecnica di costruire muri in "pietrame di varie dimensioni mescolato a legante", come viene definita in questo sito:

http://www.icec-cf.it/percorso archeologico sotterraneo.htm

Il legante è cemento o qualcosa di simile, come si può vedere da questa illustrazione:

http://www.cs.uu.nl/~wilke/aquasite/hulp/tekopusbreed.htm

Veramente, i termini latini (tranne "opus caementicium") si riferiscono all'aspetto esterno del muro mentre "a sacco" descrive la tecnica costruttiva. In inglese, potresti chiamarlo genericamente "cement core wall" o qualcosa del genere.

Peer comment(s):

disagree gianfranco : Explanations in Greek for a question asked in Ita-Eng are not very helpful. The answer is completely off too.
