Contesto linguistico : L'abitato è dominato da una notevole Torre, eretta da Federico il nel 1220, come torrione di vedetta e baluardo a difesa della zona dalle frequenti scorrerie piratesche contro il vicino approdo di Porto Cesareo. E' alta circa 28 metri; ha forma parallelepipeda a base quadrata. All'interno era divisa in 4 piani, ma i solai lignei intermedi sono crollati, mentre si conserva la bella copertura ogivale, con costoloni bicromi, *** a conci bianchi e scuri alternati *** ed un camino con coppia di capitelli decorati. Il fossato è scomparso.

The steeple has undergone restoration along with the church but two braces are still required to strengthen the walls. The lower part has only two windows to lighten the structure, which is plastered all over, except for the belfry, which is in bare stone ashlars

come vedi nel primo link 'alternate white and dark ashlar motif' e' detto polycrome, ma non so se questa sia una dicitura apropriata oppure una 'licenza' dell'autore del testo. In ogni caso e' un'altra opzione che puoi pensare di utilizzare, se vuoi..
