Flemish term

zonder voorwerp (in context)

Flemish to English Law/Patents Law (general) Judgement/use of languages in proceedings
Overall Context: Judgement

Specific context: paragraph dealing with the use of languages in the proceedings

"Alle overtuigstukken van eiseres werden zowel in origineel als in vertaling neergelegd, zodat dit onderdeel van het verweer in hoofde van verweerder zonder voorwerp is geworden".

My immediate reaction is "automatically" or "without prior application" but I can't recall coming across this specific construction before and need some confirmation.

TIA
Debbie

Thanks very much for the help - please bear with me for a couple of days before grading as I'm in the middle of a number of projects and this one is not due till Monday next. As soon as I get my revised copy back, I'll grade.
