Factory Pair

English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation Gun description
A 2007 factory pair of 20 bore Beretta SO10’s. These beautiful 30”choked at 1/4 & 1/2, shotguns are exquisitely engraved with a highly detailed gamescene. The stocks measure at 15 1/4" complete with fluted forends making them a perfectly balanced pair of guns. Both are well presented in their individual makers case with accessories.

This is a part of a gun description, I would really appreciate it if anyone could explain to me the meaning of "Factory pair" in this context.

Many thanks in advance.

special order of pair for one customer

Also known as "factory-matched pair". I think it means the two matching shotguns were made to a particular design for one customer. They are therefore unique, no others exactly like them exist anywhere, therefore they are more valuable.

Thank you.
agree Gary D : Usually have contiguous sequencual build numbers/chasic numbers

Thank you.
agree B D Finch : Prefer "factory-matched pair" as (knowing nothing about gun production or collection) think it possible that factory matched pairs of guns might have been produced on spec.

Тhank you. Yes, I prefer "factory-matched pair" too. It appears to be more commonly used than just "factory pair".
