: or power of attorney ( a proxy is not incorrect but refers mainly to when one has to vote, like at company meetings)//I think there might be a particular name for this in the music industry but can't look right now - this is safe though, I would think

Thanks Deborah, I agree that 'power of attorney' is a good alternative. As far as I know, 'letter of attorney' is used quite often in respect of trademark law, but is generally used also.
