When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

24 hour monitoring of blood pressure

"24-hour monitoring (of blood pressure)"
When a recording device about the size of a large walkman is strapped around the waist to take regular blood pressure measurements at intervals over a 24-hour period.

Nick Somers and I have been discussing this, and were hoping you could give us some more context, please?
Is this referring to someone with experience in a hospital procedure measuring blood pressure overnight or a roughly 24 horu period?
Or is this referring to the long term management of blood pressure patients? Or to a patient measuring their own bloodpressure at regular intervals?
Thanks!

I\'ve done a bit more research. The term Langzeit-RR definetely refers to a specific protocol of blood pressure measurement over 24 hours. Please see http://www.aok.de/bund/tools/medicity/diagnostik.php?icd=57
and
http://www.cardiopraxis.de/lzrr.html
Therefore, I am quite certain that the source refers to the acquired skill of this doctor in performing and interpreting this diagnostic test, which in English is called 24-hour blood pressure monitoring.

: I think not. RR stands for Riva-Rocci, the Italian physician who invented a machine to measure blood pressure http://www.whonamedit.com/doctor.cfm/1194.html

Sorry! I\'m wrong: short of sleep & I misread something. I think the \'blood pressure\' explanation is right after all.

I am sorry, I hit \"send\" to early (and twice):
The device used for taking BP over a longer period of time (24h)is called \"ambulatory blood pressure monitor\" (helps detect \"white coat hypertension\", for example; also helps to detect the peak times of patient\'s hypertensive readings).
I am a RN (registered nurse) and if you need more information, just let me know.
Sincerely
Sibylle

: the journal you cited has to do with long term CONTROL not measurement of blood pressure// :-) as used in the added link, this term describes what is wanted (long term monitoring), but the term used when requesting the measurement is 24 hr BP monitoring
