Italian term

modellata a lucignolo

Italian to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
“Il lavoro”, scultura composita a piani sovrapposti modellata a lucignolo / maiolica a lustro / h. cm 49 x 27 x 25 / Non firmata

This phrase appears repeatedly in a text on Faenza majolica. It seems to be a technique and I've found it untranslated and so thought of simply lucignolo modelled but any ideas much appreciated.

agree philgoddard : But I don't understand why you put your references separately - no one else does.

shaped like a wick

Shaping (modeling) is a technique for making sculptures.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Lara Barnett : What kind of wick? Unfortunately this answer is a bit open-ended IMO, and could mean anything without further explanation.
