French term

équilibre leucocytaire

French to English Medical Medical (general) Lab tests
Hi,
As the title of certain blood tests (neutrophils, lymphocytes, basophils, etc) I have "équilibre leucocytaire."
Is this the same as a "Differential Leukocyte Count"?
Thanks
Joanna

White blood cell differential, Differential leukocyte count

Looks like it to me.

Although this text on the formule leucocytaire lists only 3 of the 5 types, it does spell out the granulocytes:

We find the same three in the differential count (see synonyms below):
"The differential count measures the percentages of each type of leukocyte present. WBC's are composed of granulocytes (NEUTROPHILS, EOSINOPHILS, AND BASOPHILS) and non-granulocytes (lymphocytes and monocytes). "

"White blood cell differential
Synonyms : Differential leukocyte count, leukogram, autodiff, manual diff"

Finally, for équilibre leucocytaire, we find all 5 of the types listed in the English 'differential leukocyte count' description, with letters that match the 3 granulocytes above:

• PNN: 1,7-7 G/L ----------- neutrophils (neutrophiles PN above)
• PNE: 0,05-0,5 G/L -------- eosinophils (éosinophiles PE above)
• PNB: 0-0,05 G/L ---------- basophils (basophiles PB above)
• Lym: 1,4-4 G/L ----------- LYMphocytes
• Mono: 0,1-1G/L ----------- MONOcytes
