Plug Assist Design
The purpose of a plug feature is two fold. It is used to prevent webbing in the forming
of multiple male moulds which are close together and to help achieve good wall
thickness when forming into deep cavities. Under normal conditions plastic will start to
thin radically once it exceeds in depth more than 75% of the cross section (fig 5.12).
