Italian term

Berretto in Maglia Lavorata a Pelliccia

Italian to English Other Textiles / Clothing / Fashion Fabric treatment
I am unsure of how to go about translating this product, especially 'a pelliccia'. I assumed it was something like 'fur-effect' or connected to how the fabric is treated.

The text that follows is:

La particolare lavorazione della maglia arricchisce la texture del berretto lavorato a pelliccia dall'aspetto soffice e vaporoso.

Thanks

Discussion

toasty Nov 12, 2020:
Get a photo I would get a picture from the client, because this could also be 'plush' or 'teddy bear fabric', like this: https://www.amazon.it/YXLMZ-lavorata-pelliccia-orecchio-rego... or this https://plushaddict.co.uk/all-fabric/plush-fabrics/remnant-s... which is not exactly loop stitch
Shabelula Nov 11, 2020:
no dovrebbe essere proprio un "punto pelliccia" ora provo a cercarlo

presumably it's knitted in a yarn with fluffy bits on it, for example, or two types of yarn, like in the first ref.

fur stich (cap)

it works if you're sure it's crochet because there's nothing like this if you mean knitted wool

Fluffy knit hat

I would definitely go for fluffy knit or knitted hat...this is what I'd ask for if I wanted to buy one

Plush / artificial/synthetic/faux fur

I think you need to get a picture of the fabric and exact style of hat (could be a beanie or a sort of 'Russian hat'). A hat in loop knit fabric would be odd, and based on the description of soffice e vaporoso, I'm guessing this is plush or faux fur. However, it is a bit odd because plush/faux fur is a weave with pile, not a knit, though using maglia to mean both in Italian isn't unheard of.

Also, watch out for your terminology on faux fur, there are new laws about proper labelling in different countries, see, for example: https://brc.org.uk/media/398594/bc-18-005-voluntary-guidelin...
