• For several decades, xxxxxxxx was the only “back contact” solar cell on the commercial market.

• In short, the conventional cell has ribbons and wires sitting atop the silicon. This introduces inefficiency (by blocking the sun), and weakness (the thin, brittle metal is exposed and can fail – and the cell is not built on a solid metal foundation).
• Recently, xxxx has begun to manufacture its own “back contact” cell that moves these ribbons to the back of their cell.

Con "back contact" si fa riferimento generalmente alla tecnologia che viene indicata come Metal Wrap Through in cui i punti di saldatura ed i contatti sono posti dietro al pannello solare.
