Hi everyone,

Please let me know if you think the proposal below makes sense:

Workflow #1 Translating English-spoken videos: We send English source video and English master track (in SRT format) to use as reference. Hi everyone,

Please let me know if you think the proposal below makes sense:

Workflow #1 Translating English-spoken videos: We send English source video and English master track (in SRT format) to use as reference. You would deliver us translated subtitles into target languages. These translated subtitles do not need SDH/Captioning for the hearing impaired. The English master track provided by our side is an SRT file that contains the spoken English, plus any plot-relevant on-screen text that would need to be translated. Additionally, we remove all SDH/Caption information from the English Master track.

Workflow #2 Captioning non-English videos: We send Non-English source video. You would deliver a same-language closed captioning file in SRT format. This caption would need to include SDH/Captioning information for deaf and hard of hearing.

Workflow #3 Captioning and translating non-English videos: We send Non-English source video. You would deliver captioning (includes SDH/Captioning information) and translation into other languages target languages (translation does not need SDH/Captioning information).

Prices:

Workflow #1: 1.8 EUR/minute

Workflow #2: 0.9 EUR/minute

Workflow #3: 2.4 EUR/minute

Thank you!

For 200 words (average) per video minute:

Workflow #1: 1.8 EUR/minute - you get paid 0.009/word

Workflow #2: 0.9 EUR/minute - you get paid 0.0045/word

Workflow #3: 2.4 EUR/minute - you get paid 0.012/word

Adequate? No, on the contrary. it would be a joke! Let me rephrase that: a bad, cruel joke.

As you can see, you need to know exactly how many words you have to translate and/or you must be able to calculate how much time you will spend on the various tasks, and then you can figure an adequate price.

Not sure why 1+2 does not equal 3. Would quote 1 by word, don't have any experience with 2 and wouldn't even consider working for anything near as low as 3.
