40 years of comparative linguistic research focusing on translation theory and techniques. 20 years of translation teaching at Peking University and other institutions.
Permanent independent Chinese-to-English translator for the Journal of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences since May 2001.
Included in "Who's Who, Chineses Translators", published in 1988.
Repeatedly elected Member of the National Council of the Translators' Association of China (TAC).
Awarded the Medal of National Merit by the President of Portugal in 1995 in recognition of translation achievements.
