English to Chinese: About localization(wind energy)
Source text - English Investor Information
Wind Hydrogen Limited (WHL) is an unlisted public company, with shareholders including the company's founders, key board directors and executives, and a limited number of private and institutional investors. The WHL board believes there is considerable opportunity for investors to gain exposure to this growing industry, which has experienced dramatic growth in the last decade with current annual growth rates in excess of 30%.
Strategy
Wind Hydrogen Limited (WHL) initially focused on developing assets in the UK where high wind speeds, favourable sites and high energy prices presented clear development opportunities.
Since then, the company has also recognised the potential of certain Australian development sites, and has strategically positioned itself to take advantage of any favourable developments in the local energy market.
In addition to its wind farm assets, WHL holds international patents over hydrogen-based technology that complements its wind farm development activities. This technology is complementary to wind power generation, and promises to overcome the issue of variable output from wind farms, considered a key long-term barrier to the commercialisation of wind power.
WHL’s patents cover the UK and USA, and are for the process of producing hydrogen from wind energy through electrolysis and regenerating electricity using hydrogen as a fuel source. They effectively give WHL the right to develop the fundamental process of hydrogen balancing, and represent a key asset of the group.
Advanced testing in partnership with energy companies in the UK suggests the proprietary hydrogen technology holds significant opportunities for WHL in the long term.
Business Development
Wind Hydrogen Limited (WHL) has built a strong foundation for growth and increased shareholder value.
WHL has developed its business by:
• Strengthening the board and management team and increasing the number and expertise of operational staff;
Some of the more recent specific achievements and developments are:
• Expansion of the UK project portfolio through in-house development.
• Appointment of a General Manager UK to manage the UK business and augment the UK team to enhance WHL’s capabilities on the ground.
• Gaining an option to acquire Woolsthorpe Wind Farms Pty Limited which holds the rights to the 40 MW Woolsthorpe project in south western Victoria.
• Negotiating with a wind farm developer in New Zealand, Wind Farm Developments Pty Limited, to collaborate on projects in that country.
• Initiating discussions with several turbine manufacturers for the first stage of WHL’s turbine procurement strategy.
• Forming relationships with two experienced UK wind energy development advisors, West Coast Energy Limited and Natural Power Limited, to increase the speed and success rate of regulatory approval for projects.
• Reconfiguring the Wings Law project so that a 45 MW first stage should facilitate regulatory approval.
• Appointing financial and legal staff and initiating discussions with possible financial and legal advisors to facilitate the IPO of the company later this calendar year.
• Holding discussions with project financiers and equipment finance specialists in order to ensure finance will be available as WHL’s projects emerge from the approvals process.
