I have recently graduated from an MA Translation at London Metropolitan University in October 2017 with the language combinations:
German -> English
French -> English
I took special modules in Localisation and Subtitling.
Prior to my MA, I studied a BA in French and German Studies at the University of Warwick from 2004-2008, including a university exchange at the Humboldt University, Berlin 2006-2007.
I have lived in Germany for 3 years in total, in Berlin (see above) and Muenster (2013-2015), where I worked in customer service for a global company. I have also travelled extensively around France.
I am available for freelance work in generalist topics of up to 20,000 words to begin with, and will charge a minimum base rate of £0.10 per word (£100 per 1000 words) for generalist topics, but this is negotiable depending on the project and its complexity and the background research required.
I specialise in sports and football translation, website localisation and am also interested in travel, tourism, IT, politics, business, medicine, electronics, automotive, aviation and advertising/transcreation.
For specialist topics such as localisation, the base rate per word ranges between £0.12-0.16 depending on the nature of the project and the research time required around the actual translation and administration.
Please note that my minimum charge for a single project is £100. |
