Word search, language unknown IPA is ʃi ʃí or similar

Dear colleagues,

This is a word a victim of robbery remembered pretty clearly, with stress on the second “i”. It was used to calm her down, so it’s probably an interjection like shh.
Can anybody help me determine the language? Google just pointed my to Bantu or Africans, but that’s not really reliable.

What is this - a script? A police report?
What else is said?
For those of us who've forgotten the IPA, what is ʃ?

The first symbol is that which in English is written "sh", yes. The entire expression is [ʃi ʃi'].

It’s spoken language only, like German psst or English shh used to calm somebody. I just have no clue which other language it could be? Chinese?
