See more Curiously, this news division of a portal web site says that he was murdered by a local civilian, i.e. this was a simple murder and not a military killing. Of course, the site itself has no clear provenance and the report contains possible errors. I have been unable to access the mentioned Facebook page. In addition, the site calls the murderer an occupier, but also says that he is a local resident... and calling local residents (who happen to speak a certain language or happen to have certain political beliefs) "occupiers" is very revealing about the site's degree of objectivity.

This thread was started to honour a colleague | Mar 20, 2022 |
Originally, I believe this thread was simply started to honour a distinguished colleague and mourn his death. Our attention is drawn to the fact that, like many others over the years since Proz.com started, he is no longer with us, so that those who want to can express their respect and condolences. I had not heard of Olexander Kislyuk, but his work to spread the knowledge of our common roots and culture in translation is a foundation for peace and understanding. Luckil... I had not heard of Olexander Kislyuk, but his work to spread the knowledge of our common roots and culture in translation is a foundation for peace and understanding. Luckily his work will remain, so many people can benefit from it. War is a tragedy for both sides, and civilians are killed, intentionally or not. My heart goes out to all those who are struggling for what they believe in, and who have lost loved ones, or are separated from them. Please let us work for peace in any way we can! Some will have chances as writers and interpreters, perhaps to prevent or clear up misunderstandings. Others can support humanitarian work - there are plenty of options. ▲ Collapse | | |
