Anybody know of such a thing? Would make life easier if people and place names were already in the dictionary.

Old version but works so well, I don't want to change.

So, I suppose you have installed the language pack.
On Word, go on: "Format", the 5th one after File and go on: "mise en forme de style asiatic".

May be "asiatic file". I don't know the right term.
On Word 2002, it's the 11th.

Then click and you have: first one: "guide phonétique" phonectic guide.
You select the text an it put the hiragana on the kanj automatically.

Be carefull: it's not always correct. You MUST verify the all.
Nevertheless, it is a considerable saving of time.
