Source text - Hebrew על רקע גל הטרור והמתיחות הביטחונית ביהודה ושומרון ובירושלים, מקורביו של אבו מאזן משמיעים ביממה האחרונה הצהרות לוחמניות יותר ויותר, המביעות תמיכה בעימותים עם כוחות הביטחון באזור. בתוך כך, בתקופה האחרונה הרשות הפלשתינית פועלת נגד הרמת הראש של חמאס באזור. כלי תקשורת פלשתיניים דיווחו על עשרות עצורים מארגון הטרור, ומנגנוני הביטחון פיזרו התקהלויות של תומכיו.
דוברו של אבו מאזן, נביל אבו רודיינה, הצהיר היום (ראשון) כי "העם הפלשתיני לא יאפשר להתקפות הכיבוש ומתנחליו על עמנו להימשך. לעמנו יש את כל האמצעים להגן על זכויותיו ואין לזלזל ביכולותיו ובנחישותו. פלגי אש"ף ובראשם הפת"ח עדיין מחויבים לחוק הבינלאומי שממשלת הכיבוש ומתנחליה מתעקשים להפר ולא להכיר בו".
אבו רודיינה גינה את "המשך התקפות הטרור של המתנחלים על בני עמנו שהאחרונים בהם היו אתמול בכפרים בורקה וסביסטיה ובזאריא שהובילו ל-250 פצועים ולהשחתת רכוש ולחסימת דרכים". עוד ציין כי "אם ממשלת ישראל תתעקש על המשך מדיניותה התוקפנית נגד העם הפלשתיני, והקהילה הבינלאומית תמשיך לשתוק על הפשעים החוזרים ונשנים האלה - הנאום של הנשיא אבו מאזן באו"ם והמסר שלו למנהיגי העולם יהיו ברורים והרי גורל".
לדבריו, "המצב הנוכחי כתוצאה ממדיניות ישראל בשטחים הפלשתיניים הוא בבחינת 'משחק באש' והוא בלתי מקובל ובלתי נסבל. לא נאפשר שיימשך. לא יותר בשום מצב לבחון את הנחישות של ההנהגה הפלשתינית ואת רצונה המדיני". עוד הדגיש כי "סוגיית השאהידים והאסירים וזכויותיהם היא קו אדום כמו ירושלים והמקומות הקדושים".
בה בעת, משרד החוץ הפלשתיני פרסם הודעה שבה נכתב כי "אירועי בורקה הפכו את ההגנה על עמנו לחובה בינלאומית לפני שיהיה מאוחר מדי". עוד הודגש במשרד כי "ממשלת ישראל בראשות נפתלי בנט נושאת באחריות המוחלטת לפרובוקציות, לפשעים, לתוצאות ולהשלכות של שדה הקרב". המשרד הזהיר גם "מהסכנות ומהאיומים הישירים של ההידרדרות למעגל האלימות שקשה לשלוט עליו ולצאת ממנו.
"בני עמנו מתעקשים להגן על אדמתם ורכושם ונוכחותם מול הפרויקטים של הכיבוש ושל הרחבת ההתנחלויות ולדחות את מדיניות התכתיבים הקולוניאליסטית שמדינת הכיבוש מנסה להפוך למציאות שיש לחיות איתה", אמרו במשרד החוץ של הרשות.
חוסיין א-שייח', מקורבו של אבו מאזן והשר לעניינים אזרחיים, הודיע בבוקר כי "לנוכח התקפות המתנחלים והטרור המאורגן שלהם תחת הגנת צה"ל נגד בני עמנו בערים ובכפרים ובמחנות הפליטים הפלשתיניים - וההדיפה ההרואית של עמנו את הטרור הזה - אנחנו דורשים מהקהילה הבינלאומית הגנה מיידית עבור העם הפלשתיני שנתון להרג ולשריפת בתיו ושדותיו מצד כנופיות גזעניות מאורגנות".
כזכור, במוצאי שבת פרצו עימותים בין מפגינים פלשתינים לכוחות הביטחון בבורקה שליד שכם. המתעמתים יידו אבנים לעבר הכוחות והציתו צמיגים באש. למקום הגיע סגנו של אבו מאזן בפת"ח, מוחמד אל-עאלול, והביע תמיכה במפירי הסדר.
"הגענו היום עם צעירי הפת"ח כדי לתמוך באנשי הכפרים בורקה, בזאריא וסילת א-ז'אהר. לא נרשה לכיבוש להפריד בין בני עמנו ונהדוף אותו בכל הכוח", אמר הבכיר בפת"ח.
"הכיבוש לא הותיר לנו ברירה", אמר אל-עאלול. "נמשיך בהתנגדות, נישאר על אדמתנו ונגן על עמנו מול הכיבוש והמתנחלים שפוגעים בקרקע, באנשים ובמקומות הקדושים". הבכיר בפת"ח התייחס גם לתאונה ליד הכפר סינג'יל, שבה נהרגה פלשתינית מפגיעת רכב של ישראלי שחשש לעצור במקום, בתור אירוע תקיפה
Translation - English Against the backdrop of the wave of terrorism and security tension in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem, confidants of Abu-Mazin have recently issued very, very aggressive statements expressing support for confrontations with Israeli security forces in the region. In the meantime, the Palestinian Authority recently has acted against the increasing strength of Hamas in the area. Palestinian media outlets have reported on dozens of arrests in the terrorist organization and the security apparatus has broken up gatherings of its supporters.
The spokesman for Abu-Mazin, Nabil Abu-Rudayna, stated today that "the Palestinian people will not allow attacks by the Israeli occupation and settlers on our people to continue. Our people have all the means necessary to defend their rights, and their capabilities and determination should not be disparaged. PLO factions led by Fatah are still committed to international law, which the occupation government and its settlers are insistent on violating and not recognizing."
Abu-Rudayna condemned "the continuation of terrorist attacks by settlers on our people, the most recent occurring yesterday in the villages of Burqa, Sebastia and Zariya leading to 250 injuries, property damage and blocking of roads." He also indicated that "if the government of Israel insists on continuing its aggressive policy against the Palestinian people and if the international community continues to be silent regarding these repeated crimes, President Abu-Mazin's speech at the U.N. and his message to world leaders will be clear and even fateful."
According to Abu-Rudayna, "the current situation resulting from Israel's policies in the Palestinian territories is in essence 'playing with fire,' unacceptable and intolerable. We will not allow it to continue. We absolutely will not allow the testing of the resolve of the Palestinian leadership and its political will." He emphasized further: "The issue of martyrs and prisoners and their rights is a red line similar to Jerusalem and the holy places."
At the same time, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry issued a statement that "the events of Burqa have made the protection of our people an international obligation, before it is too late." It also was emphasized in the ministry that "the government of Israel led by Naftali Bennett bears complete responsibility for the provocations, crimes and the results and implications of the field of battle." The ministry also warned of "the dangers and direct threats if the situation deteriorates into violence, something that will be difficult to control and from which it will be difficult to emerge."
Palestinian Authority Foreign Ministry personnel said, "Our people are determined to defend their land and property; to face the plans by the Israeli occupation; the expansion of settlements; and to reject the policy of colonialist dictates that the occupation is trying to convert to a reality in which we live.”
Hussein al-Sheikh, confidant of Abu-Mazin and minister of Civilian Affairs, stated this morning: "Given the attacks by settlers and their organized terrorism under the protection of the IDF against our people in the cities, villages and the Palestinian refugee camps, and the heroic pushback by our people against this terrorism, we are demanding that the international community immediately protect the Palestinian people who are subject to killing, and the burning of their homes and fields by organized racist gangs."
As mentioned, on Saturday evening conflict broke out between Palestinian demonstrators and Israeli security forces in Burqa, which is located next to Nabulus. Those involved in the clashes threw stones at security forces and burned tires. Abu-Mazin's Fatah deputy, Muhammad al-Alul, arrived on scene and expressed support for the rioters.
"We arrived today with the young men of Fatah in order to support the people in the villages of Burqa, Zariya and Silat al-Dhahr. We will not allow the occupation to separate our people and we will repel them will all force," said the senior Fatah official.
"The occupation has left us no choice," said Al-Alul. "We will continue to resist; we will remain on our land; and we will defend our people against the occupation and settlers who are damaging the land, the people and the holy places." The Fatah official also addressed the issue of the accident near the village of Sinjil where a Palestinian woman was killed by an Israeli driver who was afraid to stop at the location, given that it was an assault incident.
