Έκτοτε, έχουν γίνει βήματα συνεργασίας, προσέγγισης και διευκόλυνσης του πληθυσμού στην περιοχή αυτή, ωστόσο, εφόσον τα ποσοστά σχολικής διαρροής συνεχίζουν να είναι υψηλά, είναι φανερό ότι απαιτείται μεγαλύτερη προσπάθεια από τους αρμόδιους φορείς και, προφανώς, σθεναρή πολιτική βούληση.

Μέχρι το 1996 δεν ήταν ελεύθερη η πρόσβαση για τα πομακοχώρια και για να πας από την πόλη της Ξάνθης στα Πομακοχώρια έπρεπε να περάσεις πρώτα από την περιβόητη «μπάρα» (φυλάκιο για έλεγχο χαρτιών και άδειας από την Αστυνομική Διεύθυνση Ξάνθης). Δηλαδή συνοριακός έλεγχος μέσα στην Ελλάδα.

: You are both correct. ‘Bar’ is synonymous with ‘barrier’ in this case, and ‘the bar’, in this context, implies ‘the barring’, which is the intended meaning here.
