it may be as simple as "purified water" or "deionized water". just want another opinion.

softened / ion-exchanged / permuted water
As you probably know, permuted water has undergone ion exchange, in which one ion is swapped for another. It's not necessarily demineralized. It's probably safer to call the water "softened" or "ion-exchanged". Even "permuted" is descriptive, but it's much less common. Good luck with this one.
