Ciao a tutti,
non so come tradurre "Christianity of self-esteem". Mi aiutate? Ecco il contesto:
3. ACT: Ecclesiological options from a Redemptorist perspective in Europe
We are not talking here about “pastoral priorities”; rather, we are referring to the ecclesiological options which should be borne in mind in carrying out the pastoral priorities which may be adopted by the European Conference.
a. Christianity of self-esteem
“To know Jesus is the best present anyone can receive; for us to have found Him is the best thing that has happened to us in our lives and to make him known with our word and our works is our pleasure” (Aparecida Document no. 29).
Christianity today is not a means of getting ahead, either as an individual or socially. Was it always so? In any case, what we cannot have, not today, not ever, is a “shamefaced” form of religion. To be a Christian is the best thing that can happen to any man or woman.
All our lives and all our pastoral options must both be and be seen to be imbued with this feature of healthy self-esteem. For that self-esteem to be “for real” and unfeigned, one must live and experience Christianity:
As religious citizenship: we are not “subjects” but “citizens”.
As citizenship which makes people (believers) free: Christianity supports freedom and is expressed in freedom.
Citizenship of free people who are at one and the same time equal: in the Church, the old Castillian axiom of that “Here, no one is more important than anyone else” is made fully real.
b. Christianity of being aware
Christianity today is a free choice. Was it once an “imposition”? In any event, to accept the Christian choice “in freedom” and to follow it “in freedom”, a permanent effort to be “aware” is called for.
Saint Alphonsus said that conversions born out of fear or any other fleeting emotion did not last long (Opere, III, Turin 1847, p. 288). Consequently, to be Christian and to stay Christian require the exercise of freedom and of knowledge. Moreover, Redemptorist tradition has always attached importance to “enlightening” ordinary people and also on “forming” priests. The printed word (in books, magazines, pamphlets, fliers, illustrations etc.), as a symbol of the choice to be “aware”, has been an identifying feature of the Redemptorists.
Qualche idea?
Grazie a tutti in anticipo :-)

: mah, se lo dicono loro... cmq, sì per quel "cristianesimo"./del tutto irrilevante, ma ho appena visto al tg la storia della mamma in coma e del suo parto inconscio. bello da far piangere, ma anche bestiale sotto certi versi, no?
