Čovjek/dan (man/day) je rad jednog čovjeka u jednom radnom danu - vrlo često se koristi kao jedinica rada za obračun u konzalting/usluge ugovorima:
"Ova naknada uključuje sav potreban čovjek/dan rad(ili: angažiranje, trud) za izvođenje opisanog projekta..."

"Effort" bih prevela sa rad ili angažiranje ili trud; "napor" mi je ovdje prejako.

Evo i primjer kakav se vrlo često sreće:
\"...Za realizaciju ukupnog posla potrebno je 20 čovjek/dana za ukupnu cijenu od xxx EUR u koju su/nisu uračunati transportni troškovi, troškovi smještaja... Za dopunski rad (angažiranje) preko ugovorenog obima posla biće plaćeno yyy EUR po čovjek/danu...\"

To znači:
- da će posao uraditi 1 čovjek za 20 dana, ili 2 čovjeka za 10 dana, ili... - znači, definiran je ukupan obim posla preko količine posla po čovjeku;
- da to predstavlja obračunsku jedinicu rada u ukupnom obimu posla (za plaćanje po tzv. privremenim situacijama - fakturama)
- da je time definiran i obračun za dopunski rad;
- da to nije učinak/norma jer nigdje se ne određuje KOLIKO svaki čovjek treba da uradi - to bi bila dnevna norma/učinak čovjeka.

Ovakvih ugovora sam jako puno i vidjela i prevela.
