Lesley, I am afraid you picked a wrong answer. We all know that a monastery is called 寺, while 僧舍房层 is something quite different from 僧舍房屋. In plain English, 僧舍 is called "sleeping quarters for monks."

Hmm..., as I see it, pretty much the same as the "dormitorios" where William of Baskeville, his novice Adso and/or the Pope's delegation (including Bernado Gui and his bodyguards) stayed when they visited the monastery described in "The Name of the Rose."
