Tone of voice Sorry if the comment seemed harsh. It was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. Tone of voice is hard to convey in text.
Paul Lambert Jun 1, 2023:
Disappointing Few things irk me more than the concept of "out-of-date". Of course, it is your choice whether to use a particular term or not. I trust you found some term that is more hip or swell or boss or way or whatever you whippersnappers say.
Agneta Pallinder (asker) Jun 1, 2023:
@Paul, Charles, Dave and Chris I now believe my expression "planslipad" is very out of date - an obsolete technique. Googling "planslipad kastrull" yields a quote from a 1943 letter "Birgit fick en planslipad kastrull av jultomten". So, I'll thank you for your input and award Dave a consolation prize for his suggestion.
Christopher Schröder May 31, 2023:
Sounds like induction pans then
Agneta Pallinder (asker) May 30, 2023:
@Paul, Charles and Dave The "planslipad" I talk about refers to the base or bottom of the saucepan. Made flat so that they could be used on an electric cooker, whereas the cheaper aluminium saucepans without this "ground down" base could only be used on gas cookers.
Christopher Schröder May 30, 2023:
In the UK, pans are basically either nonstick or stainless steel… Smooth-polished sounds odd to me🤷‍♂️

flat bottom casserole

Possibly hard for you to think of in English as the wording would be so different.

Anyway, what's cooking doc 🐰 in that casserole of yours?

smooth-polished

The context threw me off a little, but in terms of industrial technology and construction, this usually refers to smooth-polished metal. Just a thought.
