Discussion

Gaensi (asker) Oct 14, 2010:
It is indeed referring to a Mercedes truck.
phillee Oct 14, 2010:
I would be careful ... ... looking at the pictures I don't think the two websites mentioned in RW's links are referring to the same thing. Stabilzing Link is quite a general expression. If this is referring to Mercedes truck I think it is OK otherwise I would like to know what type of vehicle it is referring to.

stabilizer link

- auch bei VW unter anderem so genannt

- siehe:

Stabilizer Link

NASCO also offers stabilizer links to its customer base. A stabilizer link connects the stabilizer bar to the lower arm of the suspension. When a vehicle is turning, lateral forces from the tire are transmitted through the stabilizer link into the stabilizer bar. The stabilizer bar will twist, thus adding rigidity to the vehicle body.
Unlike some of our competitors, our stabilizer links are manufactured with ball joints, providing unlimited direction of rotation, reduced weight, and easier assembly into our customers’ vehicles.

anti-roll bar

According to this site:
Like an original leafspring suspension there are two dampers placed on the outside of the longitudinal runners and an anti-roll bar prevents excessive body roll. This design also can be equipped with a stabilenker (Figure 2-12). In the stabilenker configuration the lower two longitudinal reaction arms are intergraded in an anti-roll bar which is called the stabilenker.
