Murs de soutènement/murs séparatifs: quelles différences?
On peut distinguer deux familles de murs par leur fonction:
- les murs de séparation, qui séparent un espace d'un autre, et ont donc deux parements visibles (ainsi dans une maison, le mur sépare l'espace intérieur de l'espace extérieur);
- les murs de soutènement, qui soutiennent un terrain et n'ont donc qu'un parement visible, l'autre étant enterré.
A fonctions divergentes (séparation vs. soutènement), principes constructifs différents.
- Un mur de soutènement en pierre doit être systématiquement réalisé en pierres sèches.
La définition de la "pierre sèche" est simple.
On appelle "pierre sèche" la technique de construction utilisant pour seul matériau des pierres.
Autrement dit, un mur en pierres sèches est un mur dans lequel les pierres ne sont pas liées entre elles. Outre des pierres, il ne comprend que de l'air en plus ou moins grande proportion.
Réalisé dans les règles de l'art, il contient encore environ 25% de vide.
On peut se le représenter comme un puzzle géant, en trois dimensions, sans plan d'agencement prédéterminé, et que l'on peut indéfiniment assembler, défaire, remonter, déplacer.
La validité technique d'un mur en pierres sèches provient, outre d'une fondation saine, d'un assemblage correct des pierres entre elles.
- Un mur à double parement est généralement assemblé à l'aide d'un mortier.
Un mortier est l'association d'une charge (par exemple du sable) et d'un liant (par exemple de l'argile, du ciment ou de la chaux).
Contrairement à une idée reçue ("si y a pas de ciment, ça peut pas tenir!") la fonction première d'un mortier n'est pas de renforcer la solidité d'un mur mais d'empêcher la circulation de l'eau (et souvent de l'air et/ou d'autres éléments transitant potentiels, par exemple des petits animaux) entre les deux espaces que le mur distingue.
L'apport du mortier à la solidité d'une construction en pierre n'est effectif que sur certains types d'ouvrages ; il permet parfois d'en réduire le dimensionnement.
A l'inverse, nombre de murs de séparation sont réalisés en pierres sèches, notamment lorsqu'il s'agit de murs extérieurs. Dans ce cas, la participation d'un mortier impliquerait un coût en matériaux et des problèmes d'approvisionnement et de mise en œuvre alors que l'étanchéité du mur n'est pas indispensable.

Retaining walls/dividing walls: What are the differences?
We can distinguish two families of walls according to their function:
-dividing walls separate one space from another, and have then two visible faces (like this in a house, the wall separates the interior space from the exterior space);
-retaining walls hold up a land and thus have only one visible face, the other being buried.
With diverging functions (separation vs. retention), come different constructive principles.
-A stone retaining wall should systematically be produced in dry stone.
The definition of “dry stone” is simple.
We call “dry stone” the technique of construction that uses stones as the only material.
In other words, a dry stone wall is a wall in which there is no mortar binding the stones. Besides the stones, it consists only of air in a rather large proportion. Built following the rules of the art, it still contains about 25% emptiness.
We can picture it like a giant puzzle, in three dimensions, without a plan for a predetermined layout, and that we can indefinitely assemble, undo, rebuild and shift.
The technical validity of a dry stone wall is the product of, other than a sound foundation, a proper assembly of the stones among themselves.
-A double-faced wall is generally assembled with the help of a mortar.
A mortar is the combination of an aggregate (for example sand) and a binder (for example clay, cement or lime).
Contrary to common belief (“if there's no cement, it can't hold!”) the primary function of a mortar is not to reinforce a wall's solidity but to prevent water circulation (and often air and/or other potentially passing elements, for example small animals) between the two spaces that the wall separates.
The contribution of mortar to the solidity of a stone-built wall is only effective on certain kinds of works; sometimes it allows a reduction in size calculation.
Conversely, many dividing walls are created in dry stone, notably when they are exterior walls. In this case, including mortar would entail a cost in materials and problems with supplies and application, while the wall's impermeability isn't essential.

Plus de 80 stagiaires, comédiens et techniciens, travaillent à l'élaboration de spectacles joués en plein air dans les villages de la Haute Balagne du 2 au 9 août 2014. Ce stage de 34 jours permet une immersion complète en abordant toutes les phases de la production de spectacles; il favorise la confrontation des expériences, l'insertion professionnelle et la formation continue du comédien et du technicien.
La présence de professionnels internationaux contribue aux échanges des savoir-faire dans le souci de la diversité culturelle.
Ce stage de réalisation peut être un point de départ vers l'assistanat, la mise en scène, ou vers la prise de responsabilité en matière d'éducation artistique, de culture et d'éducation populaire. La présence de pédagogues ayant fait preuve d'une pratique développée liée à la formation des formateurs, ainsi que de metteurs en scène confirmés permet une pratique concrète du théâtre populaire.
Ce stage permet aussi de former des scénographes, maquilleurs, costumiers, techniciens sons ou lumières. Des conventionnements avec les écoles sont possibles.

L'Aria Organization (Association des Rencontres Internationales Artistiques, or Association of International Artistic Encounters) has been working since 1998 for the support of artistic and cultural practices. It is intended for all those who identify with a popular education approach, consisting in giving everyone the means for his individual and collective emancipation. To carry out these missions, L'Aria has available an astounding tool for artistic invention: A Stazzona. We work there the summer as we do winter.
The courses pertain to everyone. From the youngest to the oldest, from teachers to instructors, from amateurs to the most hardened professionals with always the same concern of relating training to artistic creation.
Here, we always undertake a project and share it with an audience. Every course places itself in the tradition of production courses. The trainees are then brought to present the fruit of their collective or individual labor before the audience.

Ce témoignage d'une actrice « possédée », au sens où Alfred Binet l'entendait, est un document exceptionnel. Il donne une idée précise, depuis la scène, du fonctionnement d'un genre spécial.
Ce petit théâtre mystérieux qui occupait le fond d'une impasse, si une enseigne lumineuse ne l'avait indiqué, le public l'aurait cherché longtemps ! Et pourtant, que d'encre il a fait couler, que d'articles on a faits sur lui, que d'anecdotes on a racontées.
Ce petit bout de théâtre a rempli tout Paris, il a même fait le tour du monde !
Une atmosphère de coupe-gorge avant d'y arriver – à faire reculer les plus braves – un éclairage rouge, des pavés sur lesquels on trébuchait... Arrivera-t-on vivant ?... Ce n'est pas sûr. Peut-être qu'il y a un rôdeur embusqué dans l'ombre !... C'était tout à fait cela. C'était du Carco, du Vieux Montmartre... avant d'entrer, on avait déjà peur...
Enfin, on arrivait. Dans cette impasse obscure, plantée d'arbres maigrichons, à quels dangers n'avait-on pas échappé ?
Et j'ai toujours regretté le vieux piano faux et le vieux pianiste que l'on a très vite supprimés. Ce n'était rien ce petit clapotis de notes qu'on entendait en arrivant, mais cela vous reportait à des centaines d'années en arrière, c'était tout à fait curieux comme impression.
Maintenant que nous sommes entrés dans ce théâtre... mais, était-ce un théâtre ?... pas du tout. Cela avait tout l'air d'une chapelle... Effectivement, c'était une ancienne chapelle désaffectée. Le père Didon y avait prêché. Puis, cette chapelle était devenue la salle d'exposition d'un ferronnier d'art religieux, puis l'atelier du peintre Rochegrosse qui a peint, à cet endroit, notamment La Mort de César et La Fin de Babylone comme par hasard !
Enfind, en 1896, à l'époque magnifiuque du « Chat Noir », un animateur, Maurice Magnier, eut l'idée de louer cette chapelle et de la transformer en un petit théâtre très élégant. Ce fut le « Théâtre Salon » qui est devenu, par la suite, le « théâtre du Grand-Guignol ».
Le premier spectacle du Théâtre Salon était composé d'une pantomime de Catulle Mendès, Chand d'Habits, jouée par Séverin, le fameux mime dont on a tant parlé, d'un acte de Courteline Le Droit aux étrennes et d'un petit poème de Verlaine Les Uns et les Autres.
Mais Maurice Magnier ayant dû fermer le théâtre, ce fut Oscar Méténier qui le rouvrit sous le nom de « théâtre du Grand-Guignol » en 1897. Vous constaterez que le Théâtre Salon n'avais pas duré longtemps.

This story of an actress “possessed,” in the sense that Alfred Binet heard it, is an exceptional document. It gives a precise idea, from the stage, of a special genre’s function.
If a bright light hadn’t revealed this small, mysterious theater that is situated at a dead end, the public would have looked for it for a long time! And yet, it was only ink that gave the color, only props that were used in it, only stories that we were telling.
This little thing of a theater filled all of Paris, it even went around the world!
An atmosphere of a rough area before arriving there—putting off even the bravest of people—a red light, the cobblestones you would stumble on… Will you make it alive?... It’s uncertain. Maybe there’s a prowler hiding in the shadows!... It was exactly like this. It was Carco, Old Montmartre... before entering, you were already afraid…
Finally, you would arrive. In this obscure cul-de-sac, planted with thin trees, what dangers could you not escape?
And I always missed the old fake piano and the old pianist that we quickly got rid of. This little swash of notes that you would hear upon arriving was nothing, but it would take you back hundreds of years, it was quite strange as a feeling.
Now that we have entered the theater… but, was this a theater?... not at all. It looked like a chapel… Indeed, it was an old, disused chapel. Father Didon had preached there. Then, this chapel had become the exhibition room of a metalworker of religious art, then the workshop of the painter Rochegrosse, who notably painted in this place The Death of Caesar and The Fall of Babylon, as if by chance!
Finally, in 1896, in the wonderful era of the “Chat Noir,” one of the leaders, Maurice Magnier, had the idea to rent out this chapel and transform it into a small and very elegant theater. This was the “Théâtre Salon” that next became the “théâtre du Grand-Guignol.”
The first play at the Théâtre Salon consisted of a pantomime by Catulle Mendès called Chant d’Habits, played by Séverin, the famous mime that was talked about so much; of an act by Courteline, Le Droit aux étrennes; and of a small poem by Verlaine, Les Uns et les Autres.

Pas la moindre réaction aux multiples manœuvres des son fils soucieux de lui faire avaler au moins une cuillerée de yaourt ou quelques miettes du gâteau que j'avais apporté. « Il n'est pas un bon jour ! » conclut-il avant de nous laisser seuls. Mon frère n'attendait que ça : il desserra les dents, ouvrit la bouche et je le fis manger. Comme un bébé. Surtout, il parla : plus personne ne s'occupait de lui, son fils et surtout sa belle fille s'enrichissaient sur son dos ; sa tête lui faisait mal ; il voulait juste mourir et on lui disait qu'il était fou.
Translation - English That day he had refused to go to the cafeteria to have lunch and was obstinately holding himself prostrate in his bed. Not the smallest reaction to the multiple maneuvers of his son who was worrying to make him swallow at least one spoonful of yogurt or a few crumbs of the cake I had brought. “It is not a good day!” he concluded before leaving us alone.
