German to English: Internationliesierung von Unternehmen General field: Bus/Financial
Translation - English Internationalization is the geographic dispersal of central corporate functions to international markets.
It is becoming more important due to the increasing globalization of the entire corporate function.
The motives for internationalization are protecting sales by being closer to markets, decreasing payroll expenditure and associated costs, realization of transportation cost advantages, taking advantage of foreign investment incentives offered by foreign states, and protection from exchange rate fluctuations.
Which specific form internationalization takes depends on the individual situation of each company and its strategy.
The different steps of internationalization are exporting, granting of licenses, franchising, setting up joint ventures, opening overseas branch offices, and setting up foreign subsidiaries - all dependent on available capital and management capability.
Service companies, in contrast, would focus on different key areas when talking about internationalization.

Translation - English Fear was the beginning – fear and desire and a terrified curiosity about that which would come. Night reigned and his senses hearkened, for turmoil and commotion approached from far off, a confusion of noise: rattling, smashing and dampened thunder; with it shrill exultation and a particular howling in a long, drawn out u-sound. All of it interspersed with and cloyingly drowned out by the horribly incessant flute playing, which in its brazenly intrusive way, enchanted to the very core. He knew a word, vaguely, which named that which came: "The stranger god!" Smoky embers glowed; he recognized mountain terrain similar to that around his summer house. And in the broken light of the wooded heights, from among trees and moss-covered boulders, they surged, and swirling, came cascading down: humans, animals, a swarm, a raging pack overran the slope with bodies, flames, turmoil and staggering, swirling dancing. Women, stumbling over furs hanging too long from their belts, shook tambourines above their heads, thrown back and moaning. They swung crackling torches and brandished daggers. They clutched snakes, tongues darting in and out, close to their bodies. Or else they clutched their breasts in both hands, screaming.
Furry horned males clad in fur loincloths bent their necks and raised their arms and legs. They let bronze cymbals resound and beat furiously on kettle drums. All the while, smooth-skinned boys with leafed staves goaded rams and, clinging to their horns, let the leaping animals drag them screaming along the ground. And the elated ones howled the cry of soft consonants with the long drawn-out u-sound at the end. It was both sweet and wild, a sound like no other. In one place it rang out like the call of a stag, and elsewhere it was echoed, many-voiced and in wild triumph, inciting each other to dance and flail their limbs and never let it die out. But the deep alluring sound of the flute cut through and predominated everything. Did it not also persistently entice him, the conflicted one, to join the excess and the feast of the ultimate sacrifice? His abhorrence and fear were great; his will intent on protecting his being to the very end against the stranger, the enemy of the composed and dignified spirit. But the noise, the howling, intensified by the echoing mountain walls, grew out of control and swelled to an enrapturing madness. Smells assaulted his senses: the acrid scent of the he-goats, the scent of panting bodies, a slight whiff of stagnant water, and still another more familiar smell: that of wounds and rampant disease. His heart beat in time with the drums. His head reeled. Fury seized hold of him. Blindness. Numbing desire. His soul longed to join the roundelay of the god. The obscene symbol, massive and made of wood, was unveiled and erected and they howled with unbridled fury. Foaming at the mouth, they went wild, exciting each other with erotic gestures and solicitous hands, laughing and moaning. They penetrated each other's flesh with barbed staves and licked the blood from each other's limbs. Now, though, the dreamer was with them; in them, and he belonged to the stranger god. Yes, he was them as they savagely threw themselves upon the animals, tearing off and devouring steaming tendrils of flesh; as unbridled copulation began on the churned up moss-covered ground, an offering to the god. And his soul tasted the obscenity and frenzy of downfall.

Translation - English The XXX saves data similar to a USB stick. However, saved data cannot be changed or deleted. Data can be added for a limited period of 15 months. All file operations, such as adding or appending data, are logged in a Journal file. The Journal also records every time the XXX flash drive is inserted or removed. Entries are time stamped on the XXX flash drive using an independent internal clock and cannot be deleted. This turns the XXX into a tamper-proof audit trail of digital records.
The XXX flash drive is automatically recognised by the data logger as a USB storage device. Because of its special features the XXX can sometimes take longer to mount than normal USB sticks. In newer versions of Windows an AutoPlay window will appear during mounting, which you can simply close.
The XXX flash drive prevents:
Deleting files in whole or in part
Changing saved data
Adding meta data to files, as done by Microsoft and others
The following flash drive operations are permitted within 15 months of first use:
'Save as' under a new file name in any format with any content.
Adding new records to simple file types, such as .txt, .csv or .xml.
Reading any saved files as per a normal USB stick.
Flash drive log
All operations are saved and time-stamped in a log file on the flash drive. The log records flash drive operations as well as when the flash drive has been inserted or removed. Using an internal clock makes the entries objective and tamper-proof. The log is located on the XXX in a file called 'journal.txt'.

I am an English native speaker and life-long student of German. I started my working life as a professional translator for SAP in Walldorf, Germany, where I translated their banking software (everything from interfaces and online help to the associated marketing and training material). From there, I moved into industry and now have significant senior operational experience in the management consulting, high tech and social care sectors. It is this industry experience that sets me apart from many other translators.
Though I have always kept an active sideline teaching and translating German, I have recently increased my translating activity to near full time.
I have a BA in German and International Business Administration from Concordia College (Moorhead, MN, USA); an MA in Applied Language and New Technologies from the University of Hull (UK); and an MBA from Ashridge Business School (Hult International in the UK).
